Golden Rod Eggs

This is one of my favorite dishes. This is coming from a girl who really doesn't like eggs at all.

Boiled Eggs (I recommend at least 1 1/2 per person)
White Sauce (About 1 recipe for each 6 eggs)
Toast

Peel boiled eggs. Separate whites from yolks. Crumble yolks with a fork. Chop up whites. Add whites to hot white sauce. Ladle sauce onto buttered toast, and top with yolk crumbles. Sprinkle with salt and pepper if desired. Serve immediately.

Crepes

I was at work one day when one of my co-workers and I got off on a tangent about food, which isn't super unusual. But what was unusual is that we decided to make breakfast after work. This is actually her recipe. It is delicious. They can be used either as dessert crepes or for anything else. The little bit of sugar in them doesn't interfere with other flavors such as ham and cheese.

2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
¼ teaspoon vanilla Dash salt
1 cup flour
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

In blender container place eggs, beat. Pour in milk. Add sugar, vanilla and salt; blend. Then add flour and butter; blend on low speed just until smooth, scraping down the sides if necessary. Cook in a frying pan at medium heat. Serve with whatever you want inside (i.e. ham and cheese, ice cream, lemon juice and powdered sugar, fruit and whipped cream, lettuce and tomatoes, etc.).

Meatless Gravy (For Bisciuts)

Meat is expensive. This little invention is to have a cheap version of biscuits and gravy. It's not the same, but it's pretty good I think.

1/2 Cup self-rising flour (see substitutions in the back to use regular flour)
1/2 Cup vegetable oil
2 1/2 Cups Milk
1/4 tsp sage
1 Tbsp beef bullion

Heat up vegetable oil for about three minutes (on medium heat) in a non-stick saucepan. Add one tablespoon of flour at a time, browning each tablespoon before adding the next. Reduce heat to low, and add the sage and bullion. Add milk a half cup at a time. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook until thickened. Serve over biscuits.

Maple Syrup

This recipe is the greatest because it's just proportions. It only takes about ten minutes, and it's delicious. You can double, triple, or quadruple this recipe as many times as you want.

1 Cup white sugar
1 Cup brown sugar
1 Cup water
1 cap-ful of mapeline flavoring

In a saucepan, combine the white sugar, brown sugar, and water. Bring to a rolling boil, and boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add mapeline flavoring. This is best served hot, but you can store it in the refrigerator for a long time. Sometimes it crystallizes, but heating it up will usually melt the crystals.

Cheddar'n'Bacon Muffins

Surprisingly delicious and nutritious. I'm a BIG fan of muffins because I can make them in bulk and then freeze them until I'm ready to use them.

2 cups Bisquick baking mix
2/3 cup milk
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ pound bacon, cooked and crumbled

Mix all ingredients except cheese and bacon just until moistened. Fold in cheese and bacon. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, until golden brown.
