Dear World,

I went on vacation. So sorry. (Kind of.) I will be back posting regularly as soon as I can, but I thought I owed you an explanation as to why you are getting more than a day between posts. That said, Happy Cooking!

About the Receptacle

How did it get such a strange name? Simple--I wanted a triple alliteration, and 'book' or 'container' just didn't work. Inspired by many wonderful women in my life, the Receptacle started out as a binder containing my first collection of recipes that I truly had discovered. However, it was quickly overrun with things to try and advice and random recipes that I would pick up here and there, and it ended up a total mess, acting much like what you think of when you first hear the word receptacle. In the process of writing for this blog, I am going through it and organizing it so that it becomes what I originally wanted it to be. This is my attempt to not only redeem it, but to share all my favorite food items with anyone who cares to look.
